Welcome to the Home Page of the House to House hike! The H2H is a long-distance hike through the Alps that was done for the first time in the summer of 2007. It starts in Munich, Bavaria, and finishes in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Along the way it passes through Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, France, Italy, and Monaco... and some of the most beautiful countryside in the world. Not for the faint of heart, its 92 stages cover over 1,700km, climb over 94,000m (10.6 Everests) and take around four months to complete (including a comfortable number of rest- and bad-weather-days). This website is a work in progress, currently being edited, corrected and extended based upon our actual experiences of doing the hike. As long as this is still the case, it would be best to assume that the descriptions and data herein are pre-hike best-guess estimates (for the logic behind them, see here).
